An Appeal
The earth shook. Everyone was seized by fear.
Frightening death seemed to lurk in every corner of the sky.
Think a moment... the earth must be very angry
To see all that is hers destroyed with such cruelty.
The earth feels. Her great heart as a mother
Shelters humanity with tenderness and love.
She grows the bread that satisfies our hunger,
And tends the soul with a flower's beauty and scent.
We have all been deaf to the warnings she sends.
Let us wake now, while there is still hope,
Before our ways of thinking bring that hope to an end.
Let us untie every knot, one by one.
Hand in hand, let us cry out with one voice:
Please, save the earth for the good of humanity!
